Step-by-Step Guide to Obtaining a Family Visa

Step 1: Eligibility Check
  • Spouse and Children: A minimum salary of AED 4,000 is required.
  • Parents: Minimum salary of AED 10,000 and a two-bedroom residence needed.
  • Domestic Helpers:Household income must exceed AED 25,000.
Step 2: Documentation

For the Sponsor:

  • Passport copies.
  • Copy of current UAE visa.
  • Original Emirates ID.
  • Ejari or valid rental agreement.
  • Labour contract or salary certificate.

For Dependents:

  • Passport copies with at least six months validity.
  • Two recent passport-sized photographs on a white background.
  • Attested marriage or birth certificates to establish familial relationships.

Step 3: Family File
  • Visit the nearest Amer Center to create a family file, crucial for recording and facilitating all future visa-related transactions. You can reuse an existing family file if previously sponsored another family member.
Step 4: Entry Permit Application
  • Apply for an entry permit at the Amer Center. Once approved, receive an E-Visa via email, allowing dependents to enter the UAE.
Step 5: Arrival/Change Status
  • Ensure dependents finalize Visa Stamping within 60 days of arrival. If dependents are already in the UAE, they must exit and re-enter using the E-visa or apply for a Change Status at the Amer Center.
Step 6: Medical Screening
  • Visit Amer Center to create a Medical Application. Choose between Normal Result (24 hours) or VIP Result (30 minutes). Proceed to DHA Salem Center for screening. Find the Salem Center location here
Step 7: Emirates ID
  • Initiate Emirates ID application at Amer Center.
  • Attend the Biometrics session at an Emirates ID Customer Happiness Center as per the appointment time given on the application form.
  • Upon visa approval, the printed Emirates ID card will be delivered to your address. Find the Emirates ID location here.
Step 8: Visa Stamping
  • Return to the Amer Center with the Medical Fitness Report and Emirates ID application to submit the Visa Stamping application. Upon verification and approval, the visa will be sent via email. Once approved, the Emirates ID will be printed and delivered to your home.

  • Create a medical screening application at the Amer Center. Choose between normal processing (results after 24 hours) or VIP processing (results within 30 minutes).

  • Biometrics Note: Since biometrics are captured when the visa is initially processed, you do not need to provide biometrics again.
  • Application Submission: Submit the Emirates ID renewal application at the Amer Center.
Step 3: Complete Visa Stamping
  • Submission: Return to the Amer Center with the medical report and Emirates ID application receipt.
  • Final Approval: Once the visa stamping is complete, the visa will be sent electronically, and physical stamping in the passport is no longer required.
